On Saturday 28th January we hosted a special advanced screening of Barry Jenkins’ award winning film Moonlight, followed by a Q&A with Jenn Nkiru, Jacob V Joyce, Tega Okiti, curated by the wonderful Lula Mebrahtu. We collaborated with the Genesis Cinema in Stepney Green to fill all 500 seats of their biggest screen. And it was glorious.
Moonlight is a timeless story of human self-discovery and connection, chronicling the life of a young black man from childhood to adulthood as he struggles to find his place in the world while growing up in a rough neighbourhood of Miami.
