8 - 8 Aug 2019, Jazz Cafe, Parkway, London, UK
We join forces with the Jazz Cafe to present three of London’s hottest jazz artists.
Ahnansé is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer who has worked with the likes of Shabaka Hutchings, Yussef Kamaal, 2000Black, the Outlook Orchestra, Jordan Rakei and Melt Yourself Down.
In late 2017 he set up a weekly music jam, the now legendary Steam Down. It has gone on to become one of the capital’s most spoken about movements and has developed into a full blown touring orchestra.

Alongside him comes KOKOROKO bandleader Ms Maurice (Sheila Maurice-Grey), who brings her melange of influences together to form organic grooves infused with ’70s jazz and a touch of West African sonic seasoning, all heavily influenced by her London upbringing.

Rounding off the bill is spoken word artist and fellow Steam Down member Brother Portrait, who will perform with his full live band.
